At the Race Committee meeting, we briefly discussed #FairSailing and promised you additional details in the near future. This ILYA partnership with yacht clubs and sailing schools was born from the need to ensure our sailors – both young and “seasoned”– know and understand the Racing Rules of Sailing and follow our long tradition of sportsmanship. The PYC Board of Directors supports this initiative and we’re taking part by holding a #FairSailing seminar for our club.
Not sure whether this seminar is for you?
- Are you a skipper, crew, race committee member or interested spectator?
- Would you like to better understand the Racing Rules of Sailing?
- Would you like to improve your confidence on the water, especially when tricky situations evolve on the racecourse?
- Would you like to help raise the bar on fair sailing and sportsmanship in the ILYA?
If you said yes to even one of the above, then please join us for a casual yet very interactive overview session on the Racing Rules of Sailing. It’s a chance to refresh your knowledge, and perhaps learn something new, along with friends and fellow sailors.
This session, brought to you by the Inland #FairSailing committee and the PYC, is open to all members, all ages. No RSVP required. We hope to see you there.
