PLSS Announces New Director

Pewaukee Lake Sailing School is pleased to announce Emlie Barkow Veinot as the new sailing school director, starting October 1, 2018.

Emlie grew up sailing Optimists, X-boats, and scows on Pine Lake, Wisconsin. She sailed collegiately on the Women’s Team at Hobart & William Smith Colleges in New York, while studying Psychology and Education. Emlie has been involved in Sailing Programs as a sailor, instructor, and program director.

Emlie now returns to her inland lake sailing roots after serving as the Director of Youth Sailing at the Lido Isle Yacht Club in Newport Beach, California.  Her background includes being part of US Sailing Faculty, focused on instructor training and being a Level 3 Program Manager. We are also excited about the innovative educational framework she will bring to the PLSS, drawing on her academic background as a teacher. Managing sailing programs combines her two passions of teaching and sailing. Emlie’s top priority is to introduce as many youths and adults into the lifetime sport of sailing in a fun, educational, and safe way.

Emlie is excited to be a part of Pewaukee Lake Sailing School and the Pewaukee sailing community. She looks forward to continuing the growth and success of the Pewaukee Lake Sailing School and the Milwaukee Youth Sailing Team, along with supporting the Pewaukee Yacht Club and Inland Lakes Yachting Association.

Please welcome Emlie, her husband Chad, daughter Abby, and son Foster to our family.

Sincerely,
Jon M. Just
President, Pewaukee Lake Sailing School
