Meet Kevin Burnham:
Kevin Burnham will be our 2018 E Blue Chip Mystery Guest. Kevin is one of the most decorated U.S. Olympic Sailing athletes of all time. He competed in three Olympic Games, 1992, 1996 and 2004 and brought home GOLD in 2004 Games in Athens and a SILVER Medal in 1992 in Barcelona.. One interesting fact is that in 2004, Kevin was the oldest athlete to win Gold in Athens in any sport at the ripe age of 47. He never gave up on his dream for Gold. Kevin is one of the finest, most dedicated and passionate 470 sailors ever and a legend in our sport.
Some words from Kevin about coming back to Pewaukee next week:
“When I got the call to be the 2018 E Scow Blue Chip Mystery Guest, I was elated and anxious to check my schedule. I knew I wanted to say yes, but I had to make sure I could honor the commitment. I did am deeply honored to be invited and thrilled to say YES I accept this gracious invitation. I am so stoked to get back to Pewaukee. I know the people in Pewaukee are the best from my many trips to Harken/Vanguard in the late 70’s and early 80’s building many a championship 470 at that special place. I have always found the people in Pewaukee to be extra special and the PYC to be a YC I delight in visiting. I also think the E Scow is still one of the finest One Design classes in the world. It will be a blast to sail with an ace crew which includes my wife, Elizabeth Kratzig, a world-class sailor. Elizabeth and I look forward to visiting with many people, young and old, and sharing stories to inspire future generations to come.”
